PWH operates international medical volunteering programs in the developing world to improve access to quality healthcare. Programs aim to equally: STRENGTHEN local healthcare systems by educating healthcare workers on gaps in their own training; and, PROVIDE direct patient care to those who otherwise lack access.

Programs range from public health education and awareness to highly specialized medical conferences.

Participants make a tax-deductible donation to PWH to join the program. This amount includes all roundtrip flights (with Portland, Maine (PWM) or Boston, Massachusetts (BOS) as departing/return airport) and in-country travel, accommodations and meals, interpreters, tips & sundries.
