Thank You to everyone who made Blue Wrap Project Runway 2022 a huge success!

On May 19, 2022 The Merrill Auditorium came alive as Batimbo United opened the event with a fantastic performance that had the packed house primed for a major show. With record attendance for Blue Wrap a given - the evening unfolded in spectacular fashion (forgive the pun) as Sponsors, Hosts, Attendees and Volunteers were wowed by three runway shows of amazing gowns, outfits and creations from a host of designers who brought passion and creativity to the night.

The evening was also greatly enhanced by the amazing performances of a cast of local, regional, national and international talent featuring Susie Pepper, Maeve Hoglund, The Pichintu Chorus, Henry Kramer, Portland Ballet and Ron Raines. A few short speeches and a powerful video gave people a chance to catch their breath between acts but the show kept building to a finale with a parade of all the gowns after the song Best of Times was performed by the trio of Ron, Maeve and Susie. Batimbo United returned to the stage to close out the event that blew by the goal of raising $250,000 and was set to surpass $300,000 as the $50,000 match closed on May 29, 2022

Thank you to all our sponsors, hosts, donors, designers, models, hair and make-up professionals, and the dozens of volunteers who worked to make this a huge success. Special mention must go to Emcee, Tory Ryden, our Director, Brian P. Allen, and Technical Designer, Gregg Carville and his crew. Thank you to everyone who made this a magical night!

More Information

In 2011, Elizabeth McLellan, President and Founder, along with other Innovative and creative minds at Partners for World Health (PWH), devised the organization's inaugural, unique and festive fundraising event, Blue Wrap Project Runway. Fashion designers and other artists were invited to create spectacular and unique fashions using discarded Surgical Blue Wrap - around this creative idea a glittering and fun evening was born!

Follow the right arrow below to view individual images of the fashions that were showcased at the last BLUE WRAP PROJECT RUNWAY, presented in Portland, ME in  May 2019 - which raised $110,000 directly supporting PWH's International Container Program.  As well, view the video (approximately 90 seconds) where Elizabeth describes this unique and highly successful event and preview a sampling of models in blue wrap gowns.
