2019 BLUE WRAP RUNWAY
WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
It had been nearly five years since our last Blue Wrap Runway Event, and after many requests for it’s return, Partners for World Health and it’s extraordinary supporters gathered May 16th at the University of Southern Maine’s Abromson Center for a night of fashion, music, and entertainment to support our mission to bring medical supplies and equipment to the developing world.
Blue Wrap, made of polypropylene (#5 plastic), is initially used in hospitals to sterilize all surgical supplies. Only used once, it is estimated that over 250 million pounds of blue wrap is thrown away each year, ending up in our local landfills. At the Blue Wrap Runway, BLUE WRAP was the star of the show.
This year’s event showcased performances from the stunning, Maeve Hoglund, soprano, and the astonishing Puerto Rico quartet of Dr. Jesus Alvelo, Michael Camarero-Cruz and their lovely wives.
Blue Wrap Runway was fortunate and honored to showcase the work of so many talented designers. Some just at the beginning of their careers, while others are acclaimed professionals. They gave their time, skill, and passion to create one-of-a-kind designs, and we thank them deeply.
